David Betras, the Mahoning County Democratic Party chairman, is organizing a protest against Republican Mitt Romney.
Romney, who is vying for the GOP’s presidential bid, will be in Youngstown Monday for a town-hall forum at Taylor-Winfield Technologies, a metalworking-machinery company at 3200 Innovation Place in Youngstown’s Salt Springs Industrial Park, off Meridian Road.
The forum is expected to begin about noon, and those attending have been asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m.
Betras said anyone wishing to participate in the protest should meet at 10 a.m. at the Democratic Party headquarters, 3325 Mahoning Ave., in the Mahoning Plaza.
“We’re asking anyone who wants to come out to do so,” Betras said.
The Democratic Party and United Auto Workers Local 1714 also plan a press conference to respond to Romney’s comments after the town hall.
