Teamsters Local 507, which represents about 250 employees who perform Red Cross blood-collection operations, initiated a work stoppage against the American Red Cross Northern Ohio Blood Services Region on Feb. 14. The stoppage is now in its third week, and the Red Cross has been daily evaluating all its blood drives and promotional efforts that may occur during this time. The Austintown Donor Center, 57 Westchester Drive, will have a blood drive from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Holocaust museum official is speaker

Alexandra Zapruder, designer of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s children’s exhibition, “Remember the Children: Daniel’s Story,” will speak at 7 p.m. April 23 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.
Her talk will be given in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah).
Zapruder was a member of the founding staff of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. She went on to become assistant director of the Oral History Department, recording the testimonies of Holocaust survivors.

Spanish 101 at JCC

The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, will offer Conversational Spanish 101 this spring.
Sessions will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 3-26, in the board room. For the class, the book is “Spanish in 10 Minutes a Day” by Kershul publisher Bilingual Books Inc.
