Event to celebrate women and the U.N.

YOUNGSTOWN

UNA-USA Youngstown Area Chapter and co-sponsors Church Women United, YWCA, Women of First Presbyterian, Altrusa and The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown will host an evening celebrating women and the United Nations on March 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.

Dinner is $15 and begins at 5:30 p.m. The program, which begins at 7, is free.

The program will feature keynote speaker Meagan Manas. She has been working with women of faith on a variety of justice issues for years. This year she participated in leadership on an ecumenical delegation of women from around the world at the 56th Commission on the Status of Women at the U.N. for the fourth time as they explored advocacy with women from rural areas and their ideas for solving hunger and poverty.
