Crestview holds off Rootstown in sectional final in Salem

Robert Logan scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Adam Coppock scored 13 points with three steals to lead the Crestview High boys basketball team, which held off a furious Rootstown rally in the fourth quarter to hold on for a 56-54 victory in a Division III sectional final Friday night at Salem High School.

C.J. Collins added 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks for the Rebels (15-6), who led 45-37 entering the fourth quarter.

Nate Climo had eight rebounds and five assists as Crestview advanced to play St. Thomas Aquinas in a district semifinal at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The Knights defeated Canton Central Catholic in the nightcap, 57-47.

Mike Conley scored seven of his 17 points in the fourth quarter for Rootstown, which made 20 of 26 from the free throw line compared to just 11 of 22 for Crestview.

Tyler Moeglin scored 10 points to lead a balanced attack for the Knights. Joey Piciacchio scored 22 points, all in the second half, for Central.
