Story time host Laura Frey (back) suggested her guests show their love by stretching out their arms as well.

Guests to the “Little Listeners with Laura” story time at Boardman Barnes and Noble celebrated warm and fuzzy bunny rabbits during the Feb. 23 event.

Host Laura Frey shared three stories with a large group of Boardman kids that all included rabbits as their protagonist. The characters of “Guess How Much I Love You” by Sam McBratney tried to show their love with physical gestures, which Frey mirrored with story time guests. Kids reached high into the sky and blew kisses to their parent or grandparent to show their love.

After story time, Frey had her guests explore movement by shaking and wiggling their hands, touching and identifying body parts, and hopping and jumping. The group sang recognizable tunes like “Ring Around the Rosy” and “I’m a Little Teapot.”

Guests finished the event by completing a craft, where they glued a cotton ball tail to a bunny photo.

Grandma Dodie Lowry enjoyed the event with her grandchildren, Drake and Gwen. Lowry said she attends the program with her grandchildren every week it is offered at the Boardman store.

“They love all the moving and shaking they get to do during their story time and it’s great to see them learn about so many different great stories,” said Lowry.
