Homicide suspect has hearing at 1:30 p.m. today
YOUNGSTOWN — Jasmine Fletcher, 21, of Lora Avenue, charged with the shooting death of her neighbor over the theft of electrical service, has her arraignment at 1:30 p.m. today in Youngstown Municipal Court before Judge Robert Milich.
Fletcher is charged with aggravated murder in the shooting of Munir Blake, 31, also of Lora. She came with her father and surrendered to police Thursday night.
Police said Blake called the police Wednesday to complain about Fletcher stealing his electricity. Police came out to the Lora Avenue duplex and disconnected the illegal line that same day.
According to Lt. John Kelty, Fletcher purchased another cord and was attempting to begin stealing Blake’s electricity again Thursday. When Blake confronted her, police said that is when the shooting took place.
