Women’s history celebration to feature Geewax as speaker

Planning has begun for the 26th annual Trumbull County Women’s History Dinner Celebration, which is scheduled for March 27 at Packard Music Hall.
A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Catering will be by Jimmy Economos of Saratoga Restaurant and Catering.
The speaker will be Marilyn Geewax, senior business editor for National Public Radio’s National Desk. The program is “News Women — Past, Present & Future.”
Geewax is a native of Youngstown and has worked as a business reporter for Cox’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Her first professional job in journalism was at the Akron Beacon Journal.
Event chairwoman E. Carol Maxwell and her committee will honor and recognize local women’s clubs and organizations.
National Women’s History Project theme for 2012 is “Women’s Education — Women’s Empowerment.”
