Girard man pleads guilty as charged in IRS case

YOUNGSTOWN — A Girard man pleaded guilty as charged today to 13 counts of failing to report and pay to the IRS $92,433 in employment taxes withheld from employees of his company between 2006 and 2009.

Patrick M. Rubinic, 48, pleaded guilty to willfully failing to report and turn over to the Internal Revenue Service federal income and Social Security taxes withheld from employees of Knight Line Embroidery of Girard, and causing that money to be used for other purposes.

Rubinic also failed to report and pay to the IRS the employer’s share of the Social Security taxes, the U.S. Attorney said.

Rubinic, who is free on bond pending his May 30 sentencing, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Patricia Gaughan.
