UPDATE: Struthers explosion victims identified


STRUTHERS — The two men burned in an explosion at Struthers WasteTreatment Plant on Lowellville Road this afternoon have been identified as Kenny Stiver and Gary Wilson.

The men were burned on more than 80 percent of their bodies around 2:30 p.m. today, officials said.

They were flown to a Pittsburgh hospital where a nursing supervisor said late tonight that both are in critical condition.

The explosion occurred in a cylinder that heats human and industrial waste exploded at the plant.

Police and fire crews were on the scene this afternoon, and the State Fire Marshal was notified.
