Trumbull County officials OK $18K pact with chamber

Trumbull County commissioners approved a new contract with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber to continue economic development services for the county.

The 12-month contract for $18,000 was approved Wednesday.

The chamber concentrates on the retention and expansion of local business and the attraction of new business to the Mahoning Valley. The chamber provides economic development services by assisting companies to identify suitable properties, secure project incentives and obtain strategic information, along with other services.

Sarah Boyarko, the chamber’s vice president of economic development business retention and expansion, said that “during 2011 the chamber had significant involvement in 10 Trumbull County projects totaling $83,140,000 of investment, and the creation of 358 new jobs with an estimated annual payroll of more than $16 million. We are looking forward to another successful year of business growth in Trumbull County.”
