VILLA MARIA, Pa.

Villa Maria Spirituality and Education Center continues its monthly ongoing series of morning seminars with “Essences of Spirituality: Solitude” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 13. Cathy Cawley, adult/family program director at Villa Maria, will be the presenter.

Program participants may stay for lunch, but registration is required. Cost to attend the program is $7; program and lunch are $13.70.

Honoring veterans

HUBBARD

First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, 22 Westview Ave., will honor World War II veterans during the 10 a.m. worship service July 8.

Memorabilia from that period will be displayed. Three veterans who attend First Presbyterian will participate. The church also has invited various veterans organizations.

First Friday Club

The Rev. Michael Woost of St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology in the Diocese of Cleveland will be the featured speaker when the First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown meets July 12 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St. This is the second Thursday of July because of the Fourth of July.

His topic will be “A Sacramental Life.”

The Youngstown City and Regional Prayer Team will host a prayer assembly at 10 a.m. July 7 at Fifth Avenue Community Church, 1361Fifth Ave.

The Rev. Jason Jablonski will conduct revival and healing services at 10:30 a.m. and at a special service at 6:30 p.m., both Sunday, at Covenant Life Fellowship, 5900 W. Liberty St. The Rev. John Vrabel is senior pastor.

The Bridge will share worship leadership with inspirational music at 10 a.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Churchill Road.

Bob “Rollo” Miller, Liz Yochman and Al Cooper are members of the contemporary praise and worship band.

New pastor

The Rev. Jerry Krueger is the new pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St. He will conduct the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday. A more formal welcome service will be at 10:30 a.m. July 8.

The Rev. Mr. Krueger comes from Lakeridge United Methodist Church, Lubbock, Texas. He is a graduate of Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas, and Methodist Theological School of Columbus.

His wife is the Rev. Susan Brown, pastor of Canfield United Methodist Church.

Mr. Krueger will be the 100th pastor of Trinity UMC, and only the 14th since 1900. Trinity was founded in 1803. It had multiple pastors for one- or two-year appointments in the first 97 years.

Church in the Woods at Christian Retreat Center, 8420 Gibson Road, will conduct its first service at 3 p.m. today. Services will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and feature various Christian speakers.
