New Castle man sentenced on child sex charges

PITTSBURGH

A 50-year-old New Castle, Pa., man has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison after he had earlier pleaded guilty to possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor.

U.S. District Court Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence Thursday on Carl George, who will be on six years’ of supervised release after he leaves prison.

On Dec. 15, 2009, George possessed videos and still depictions in computer graphic files, whose production involved minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, the U.S. attorney said.

The images were obtained from a now-defunct members-only child-pornography website. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigated the case.
