Van, car crash in Bazetta injures 6


BAZETTA — Six people were injured, including three minors, in a van-car crash at the intersection of state Route 305 and North Park Avenue extension.

The crash was reported at 2:01 p.m. today, according to Trumbull 911 Dispatch Center. Police and fire personnel from Champion and Bazetta townships and three ambulances responded to the scene.

Bazetta Fire Chief Dennis Lewis said six victims were transported to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, four with minor injuries and two with more significant but not life-threatening injuries.

Two of the injured riding in the car are from Newton Falls. A female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. An adult and three minors from Warrensville Heights were riding in the van, Lewis said.

Champion Fire Department Capt. Donald Maffitt said multiple crashes have occurred and what he said was a dangerous intersection.
