Golf to benefit families of cancer patients

The Wilcox family of Austintown formed a new local charity to benefit families like their own who have children with cancer. The Brett Wilcox benefit golf tournament will be held July 22 at Lakeside Golf Course in Lake Milton. The entry fee is $65 per golfer and $250 per foursome. Registration, coffee and doughnuts will be held at 9 a.m. and the registration deadline is July 8.

Little Falcons football and cheerleader sign-ups set

Sign-ups for the Austintown Little Falcons football and cheerleading squads will be July 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Austintown Township Hall on Ohltown Road. All children who live in Austintown or go to Austintown schools ages 6 to 12 are welcome, but they must turn 6 on or before July 31.

There is a $45 registration fee for the first child from a family to sign up. Any additional children from the same family to sign up have only a $20 registration fee. A mandatory $50 fundraiser will be in place for all children.

Ursuline High golf team scramble July 29

The Ursuline High boys golf team is sponsoring a four-person scramble on July 29 at Bedford Trails.

The event is a fund-raiser for new coach Matt Morgan to purchase golf balls, bags, etc. for the fall season. Fee is $280 per team with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Contact Morgan at 330-507-7673 (matt-morgan@hotmail.com) or Andrew Grischow at the course at 330-536-2234.
