Local youth violinist performs at YSU
Teen violinist Noah Lee performed a violin concert at Youngstown State University’s Bliss Hall on June 23.
Lee, who will be in eighth grade at Poland Middle School, performed 11 pieces of music with the finale of Tarantella, arranged by Jose Irizarry.
Lee’s mother accompanied her son’s playing on the piano.
Lee is a high honor student who also plays soccer, baseball and other sports.
He holds a black belt in Taekwondo at Master Park Martial Arts International, where he has trained for five years and proved to be an excellent performer in martial art forms, sparring, jumping spinning kicks and various breaking demonstrations.
Lee is continuing a family tradition of talented musical performers. His mother, Emiko Kobori-Lee, is a pianist from Japan and his father, Hae-Jong Lee from South Korea, is an internationally-known choir and voice conductor and performer. He is a professor and the director of Choral Activities at the College of Fine and Performing Arts at Youngstown State University.
