Truck downs wires, starts fire

MERCER, Pa.

A truck backed into a telephone pole causing a chain of events Tuesday evening.

The truck was in a parking lot near the Comfort Inn on Perry Highway when it backed into the pole, causing wires to come down, a brush fire to start and power to some nearby businesses to go out.

One person who drove under a sagging power line was transported to the hospital, according to the Pennsylvania State Highway Patrol in Mercer County.
