Ward-Thomas Museum plans July Open House

An open house at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St., Sunday will feature tours of the flower gardens on the estate.

The greenhouse, built in 1925, is surrounded by flower gardens and trees to complement the natural beauty of the grounds.

Self-guided tours will begin at 2 p.m. in the garden. Visitors also may tour the museum that day.

The 14 rooms are open for viewing, and there are thousands of items to see, including the Whitehouse ladies gowns collection.

The donation for adults is $5, and children under 12 with an adult are admitted free.
