There is an abundance of summertime activities at McDonald’s Woodland Park for village residents.
Park movies begin about 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays, and the next film will be shown today.
Dates for the remaining movies are: Tuesdays, July 10, July 17, July 24; Wednesday, Aug. 1; and Tuesday, Aug. 7.
The schedule will be posted on park buildings and in the municipal building.
Park crafts take place every Friday at noon, rain or shine.
The park pool will be open, weather permitting, from noon to 6 p.m. weekdays.
Summer adult volleyball will take place every Monday and Wednesday until Aug. 8. Tournament play starts Aug. 10.
Story time will take place in the gazebo Mondays between noon and 3 p.m.
Tie-Dye Day will take place in the Woodland Park Pavilion on Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring one item you would like to dye, including shirts, shorts, socks, etc.
The John Pete Checker Tournament is Friday. All ages are welcome.
The tournament will be at noon in the Woodland Park Pavilion.
Sign up at the park building or the municipal building before Thursday.
Tournament registration will be at 11:45 a.m. Prizes will be awarded.
Concerts in the Park are Thursdays, starting July 12 and will run until Aug. 16 at the Ramsay Memorial Pavilion from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The concert schedule is: The Youngstown Symphonic Band, Paul Rossi conducting, July 12; The Frank Gallo Band, July 19; The John Ruman Combo, July 26; the Jim Frank Combo, Aug. 2; The Mahoning Valley Button Box Club, Aug. 9; The Big Band Sounds of the Don Burns Orchestra, Aug. 16.
Safety Day is scheduled for July 13 at noon. Village police, paramedics and firefighters will discuss safety and answer questions.
Prizes and candy will be given away to participants.
Beach Day in the park is scheduled for July 18, and will include sprinklers, beach balls, sand-castle supplies, flying discs, games, crafts, lemonade and more.
Ice Cream Sundae Day will be Aug. 10 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Woodland Park Pavilion. Come and create your own sundae with many toppings.
The park closing event will be Aug. 16.
There will be a picnic after the event with food, games and prizes.
More information on this event and registration forms can be picked up at the municipal building after July 13.
