Reconfiguration

The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown began its reconfiguration plan May 28, 2010, in churches in the six-counties of Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage, Stark and Trumbull. Parishes are single units, collaborations and mergers. Some churches have closed. This is a listing of the mergers and new parish names. Some mergers have multiple worship sites and adjustments may be made in the future. Closings also are listed.

Our Lady of the Lakes Parish: St. James Church in North Jackson and St. Catherine Church in Lake Milton.

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish: St. Vincent DePaul Church in Vienna and St. Bernadette Church in Masury. Plans are being made to build a new church.

St. Columba Parish: St. Columba Cathedral and St. Casimir Church, both Youngstown. St. Casimir is closed.

Christ the Servant Parish: Our Lady of Peace Church and St. Paul Church, both Canton. St. Paul closed.

St. Angela Merici Parish: Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and Immaculate Conception Church, both Youngstown. Immaculate Conception closed.

St. Anthony/All Saints Parish: St. Anthony Church and All Saints Church, both Canton. All Saints closed.

St. Mary/St. Benedict Parish: St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church and St. Benedict Church, both Canton.

Holy Family Parish: St. Clement Church in Navarre and St. Therese Church in Brewster.

Christ Our Savior Parish: St. Nicholas Church and Holy Trinity Church, both Struthers.

Holy Trinity Parish: St. Aloysius Church in East Liverpool, and Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Immaculate Conception is closed as are St. Ann in East Liverpool and St. Agatha Mission in West Point.

Blessed John Paul II Parish: St. Pius X Church, St. Joseph Church and Christ Our King Church, all Warren. St. Pius and Christ Our King closed.

Holy Apostles Parish: St. Stephen of Hungary Church, Sts. Peter and Paul Church and Our Lady of Hungary Church, all Youngstown. Our Lady of Hungary closed.

Our Lady of Peace Parish: St. Joseph Church, Mother of Sorrows Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, all Ashtabula. Our Lady of Miracles Mission is closed.

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish: St. Lucy/St. Rose of Lima Church, St. John the Baptist Church and St. Joseph the Provider Church, all Campbell. St. Elizabeth closed.

Our Lady of Sorrows Parish: St. Matthias Church, Holy Name of Jesus Church, and Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, all Youngstown.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Anthony of Padua Parish: Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Anthony of Padua Church, both Youngstown.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish: Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church and St. James Church, both Warren.
