NFL players John Greco (Cleveland Browns), John Hicks (New York Giants) and Michael McGlynn (Indianapolis Colts) are among the pro athletes who will participate in the 27th annual Children’s Circle of Friends Celebrity Golf Classic on July 9 at the Lake Club.

Proceeds will benefit D&E Counseling Center, a child/adolescent behavioral health care provider in Youngstown and Austintown plus the children’s agencies supported by United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.

“This is the only local event devoted specifically to support children’s mental health services,” said Greg Cvetkovic, Circle of Friends President. “We have been fortunate to raise over $450,000 over the years to help this cause.”

Among the other participating athletes are Robin Cole (Pittsburgh Steelers), Michael Zordich (Philadelphia Eagles), John Hirschbeck (major league umpire), Dan Gerberry (Detroit Lions) and Jeff Wilkins (St. Louis Rams).

Registration will be at 10:30 a.m. and the tee-off will be at 11:30 a.m.

Entry fee is $500 and includes a barbecue social at The Lake Club on July 8.
