Comic books, more set at Warren show
WARREN
All AmeriCon 2012, an annual show featuring comic books, toys and collectible and role-playing card games, has been scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. July 1 at the Comfort Inn on North Park Avenue.
“We expect around 40 retailers from Northeast Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Columbus who will be bringing a number of items to sell,” said Josh Nativio, manager of All American Cards and Comics on West Market Street in Warren.
“This is the third year we’ve held it, and we generally attract around 300 people.”
Youth carnival, talent show planned
YOUNGSTOWN
St. James Church of God in Christ, 75 S. Prospect St., will sponsor a three-day youth carnival and gospel talent show with the theme, “Bring Da Fire.”
The event will focus on promoting peace and nonviolence among young people in the city.
The event opens at 7 p.m. Friday on the church grounds and continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. A gospel talent show is planned for 10 a.m. July 1 at the church, and individuals and groups are encouraged to participate.
