Cancer center group plans awareness day


AUSTINTOWN

Yellow Brick Place, a newly formed nonprofit group, has planned an awareness day from 1 to 4 p.m. July 15 at Stacey Pavilion in Austintown Township Park.

Organizers plan to build a cancer resource and wellness center to provide hope, education and support for patients.

The day will feature free activities for children and families, refreshments and entertainment while information is provided about efforts to build the local center.

The schedule follows:

1 to 2 p.m.: Entertainment and refreshments.

2 p.m.: Introduction of Yellow Brick Place to the community.

2:15 p.m.: Performance by James McClellan.

2:30 p.m.: “At Least I Hope” by John Hudson.

3 p.m.: Closing remarks by Jack Savage.
