TCESC honors several retirees

Trumbull County Educational Service Center honored its retirees at a dinner this month at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre.

The evening event recognized individuals for their years of service to education as well as to the years of service at Trumbull County Educational Service Center.

Individuals honored were Cathy Coen, gifted coordinator, four years at TCESC; Sue Datish, curriculum and instruction supervisor, 12 years; Tom Eidson, adapted physical education teacher, 14 years; Donna Latessa, work study coordinator, 31 years; Richard Metzger, special education supervisor, 30 years; Richard Montagnese, special education supervisor, 25 years; Karen Thomas, special education supervisor, five years; Christine Huff, classroom assistant, 24 years; Kathy Pompoco, secretary, eight years; Ruth Prince, speech-language pathologist, 26 years; Judy Stone, gifted teacher, eight years.

Also recognized was Pam Lubich, curriculum and instruction supervisor, who retired in June 2011 after 15 years at TCESC.

Each retiree was honored and presented with a crystal award in honor of their service to education.

Dr. James LaPolla, former governing board member, was also recognized for his 43 years of service as a school board member in Trumbull County. Dr. LaPolla resigned from the governing board in the spring because he moved away from the area.

The Trumbull County Educational Service Center provides educational support services in the areas of personnel, technology, curriculum and special education to 20 schools in Trumbull County. The Center, which serves as a link between the Ohio Department of Education and the schools, also provides administrative services, instructional services, technology/media services and professional development services.

In conjunction with the school districts, TCESC provides programs to promote the highest levels of learning for children in Trumbull County.
