Flower show includes national club ribbons

At the Garden Forum Flower show, which took place recently at Fellows Riverside Gardens, Dolly Vivalo won a National Garden Club honor for this Petite Award Design. The show was presented by the Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN

Design and horticulture classes won National Garden Club Ribbons at the Garden Forum Flower Show on June 16 and 17 at Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Chairwomen for the event were Millie Campean and Dianna Mullins. Judging the show were Pearl Marlos, Joyce Dunbar and Rose Mary Fuller.

Blue ribbons in the design division went to Esther Bertch, Dolly Vivalo of Nature Lovers, and Dunbar and Marlos of Gleaners.

Blue ribbons in horticulture went to Sheila Bowman, Fuller, Linda Biggs and Mullins of Nature Lovers; Hugh Earnhart of the Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown; Mary Schall of Austintown Garden Club; Marlos and Mary Lou FLere of Gleaners; Cindy Salerno, member-at-large; and Yvonne Fayard and Tresa Kurz-Hedrich, Public.

National Garden Club Ribbon winners were Vivalo, Petite Award; Dunbar, Tri-Color Award; and Marlos, Designer’s Choice.

Mullins won the Forum’s Special Award for Horticulture.
