Golf to benefit families of cancer patients

The Wilcox family of Austintown formed a new local charity to benefit families like their own who have children with cancer. The Brett Wilcox benefit golf tournament will be held July 22 at Lakeside Golf Course in Lake Milton. The entry fee is $65 per golfer and $250 per foursome. Registration, coffee and doughnuts will be held at 9 a.m. and the registration deadline is July 8.

Little Falcons football and cheerleader sign-ups set

Sign-ups for the Austintown Little Falcons football and cheerleading squads will be today and July 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Austintown Township Hall on Ohltown Road. All children who live in Austintown or go to Austintown schools ages 6 to 12 are welcome, but they must turn 6 on or before July 31.

There is a $45 registration fee for the first child from a family to sign up. Any additional children from the same family to sign up have only a $20 registration fee. A mandatory $50 fundraiser will be in place for all children.

Steelers tickets

A limited number of individual game tickets for the Steelers’ 2012 home games are available through Ticketmaster beginning on today at 10 a.m.

Fans may buy up to four tickets total per household, in any combination, for any of the eight regular-season games. There is no ticket limit for either of the two preseason home contests. A majority of the tickets will be priced at either $66 or $70. There will also be single seats available at various locations and price ranges.

Tickets will be sold on www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster’s toll free sales line 1-800-745-3000. Tickets will not be sold at Ticketmaster outlets.

All accessible seating will also be available through Ticketmaster starting at 10 a.m. today.
