Summer Relief Day

YOUNGSTOWN

The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is encouraging area churches to bring awareness to the issue of the local homeless on July 22, a day that Youngstown Mayor Charles Sammarone has declared “Summer Relief Day.”

Because monetary and food donations traditionally are lower during the summer months, mission officials are urging local churches to pray for the homeless and the mission and consider volunteering time this summer and hosting a special, one-time offering for the mission July 22.

For “Summer Relief Day” details or to register a church to participate, call 330-744-5485.
