Concerts continue at amphitheater

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Good Old Boys will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the second in a series of free concerts at the Riverwalk Amphitheater, at the corner of Washington and East streets, behind Cascade Center. Upcoming concerts include: the Rich Harper Band, July 27; the Wrangler Band, Aug. 10; JD Eicher and the Goodnights, Aug. 24. A special Rockin’ the River Concert on July 13 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project will feature Dun Damage, Voyage & Antoinette, Sofa King Cool Band, Nik Killa, C.B. Trio and 8th St. Rox. It will be a prelude to the Fireworks Festival on July 14.

Writers to meet

CANFIELD

Monday Night Writers, led by author and professional writer Nancy Christie, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Peaberry’s Cafe, 4350 Boardman-Canfield Road. The meeting will focus on writing exercises and discussions of creative and business aspects of writing. Those with works-in-progress are welcome to bring copies of their projects for comments and critiques from the group. The fee is $10 per class. Concert for kids

Salem

Tom Sieling, a singer and songwriter from Newfield, N.Y., will perform a free, participatory family program for kids called “Howl at the Moon with a Wild Thing Tune!” at the Salem Memorial Building at 11 a.m. Saturday. The show consists of humorous songs with Sieling singing and playing guitar, banjo and harmonica. Songs include parts for the whole family. Families with children under age 12 are invited. The program is free, but registration is required.
