Police find crying toddler alone on Columbus porch

COLUMBUS (AP) — Authorities in Columbus have located the parents of a toddler who was found alone and crying on the porch of a home.

Someone heard the child’s cries and called police early this morning. Officers found the boy alone and uninjured, wearing a T-shirt and shorts.

Police questioned neighbors but couldn’t immediately determine where the boy lives or who was supposed to be caring for him. Franklin County Children’s Services said the boy’s parents made contact with authorities several hours later. They were expected to pick him up.

There was no immediate word on how the toddler ended up alone or whether police expected any charges.
