Mechée Gasparek and Jeffrey Thomas, both of Girard, were united in marriage May 12 at St. Charles Church in Boardman.

The Rev. Philip E. Rogers officiated at the 11 a.m. ceremony for the daughter of Darius and Tressa Gasparek of Boardman, and the son of Jim and Nina Thomas of Niles.

The couple received congratulations at a reception in their honor at DiLucia’s in Warren.

The bride wore a strapless A-line styled gown featuring a lace train.

Attending the bride as maids of honor were her sisters, Makala and Miah Gasparek. Bridesmaids were Jessica Thomas, the groom’s sister-in-law, and Amy Hornikel, Hayley Withrow and Lindsay Sechrist. Attendants wore dresses of charcoal and peach. Alaina Santor, the groom’s cousin, was the flower girl.

Performing the duties of best men were Jimmy Thomas, the groom’s brother, and Charlie Pierce, the groom’s cousin. Groomsmen were Merle Smith, the groom’s cousin, and Phil Hornikel, Ron Fike and Tom Kuhn. Lorenzo Sprockett, the bride’s cousin, was the ring bearer.

Mrs. Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree at Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in education at the University of Akron. She is a dental hygienist at Dental Works in Niles.

Mr. Thomas is a union carpenter employed at Mascaro Construction in Pittsburgh.

After a wedding trip to Hocking Hills, Ohio, the couple are making their home in Girard.
