Pa. table games revenue up 7.4 percent last month

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — State gaming officials say revenue from table games was up 7.4 percent last month when compared with May 2011. That increase is boosted by play at Valley Forge Casino Resort, which opened in March.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said today that table games brought in $55.2 million in gross revenue last month, up from $51.4 million during the same period last year.

The totals include $2.2 million in gross revenue at Valley Forge; without that revenue, revenue at current casinos was up about 3.1 percent — led by an increase of more than 50 percent at Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem.

Harrah’s Philadelphia, The Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, Hollywood Casino, Mount Airy Casino Resort and The Meadows Casino and Racetrack all saw declines in their numbers.
