Sourcebook for public to aid history research

YOUNGSTOWN

Mahoning Valley Collecting Institutions Roundtable has published a Sourcebook for the public that highlights and facilitates the use of area museums and libraries that have holdings related to local history.

The book lists available resources and describes how and when the public can access them.

Copies of the Sourcebook are being distributed at no cost to local schools, libraries, museums and visitor centers.

Free copies for the public are available at branches of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, Youngstown State University’s Maag Library and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.

The Sourcebook is geared for use by local history researchers, genealogists, students and academics, and the general public.

It also is available online at www.mahoninghistory.org/sourcebook.

Howland’s Ozanich wins recognition

“The Great Pain Deception,” by Howland author Steven Ray Ozanich, has been selected as an award-winning finalist in Best New Health Book and Health: Alternative Medicine categories at the 2012 International Book Awards in Los Angeles.

In the competition, 18 countries were represented, and more than 1,000 books entered.

Ozanich’s book was voted runner-up finalist in the Best New Health Book category and was honored as a finalist in the Health: Alternative Medicine category.
