Softball all-stars play on Monday

The Mahoning/Trumbull Valley Senior All-Star softball games will be played on Monday at Candlelite Knolls.

The doubleheader will begin at 4 p.m.

Reid Lamport, who led Poland to three consecutive state appearances, will coach the Mahoning squad.

Cheryl Weaver, who guided Champion to two straight state titles, will be one of the Trumbull head coaches. The other is Jim Nicula who led Mathews to its first state appearance.

Assisting Lamport will be Al Cozart, Dom Deluca and Matt Campbell. Helping Weaver and Nicula will be Brent Swipas and Bill Eggens.
