The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s mobile outreach center will visit the Youngstown unit of the NAACP from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday to accept complaints of employment discrimination based on race, religion, sex, national origin, age (40 and older), disability or retaliation.

The EEOC considers retaliation the firing of a worker who complained about job discrimination, gave evidence in a job-discrimination matter or filed a charge of job discrimination with the commission.

The local unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is in Suite 721 in the former PNC Bank Building at Wick Avenue and Commerce Street in Youngstown.

Managing pastures

HANOVERTON

A pasture management workshop will be at 6 p.m. June 28 at the Conkle Family Farm, 9861 Stroup Road, which features beef cattle, broiler chickens and hens. A pasture walk will be conducted by Jeff McCutcheon, Ohio State University extension agent. The event is being presented by the Eastern Ohio Grazing Council, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and local Soil and Water Conservation districts. Learn to write grants

GROVE CITY, PA.

A one-day workshop on grant preparation and organizational readiness will be from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. July 13-14.

James Bird, development director for George Junior Republic School, will facilitate the workshop for Advancement Recourse Services at the Faith Information Center of the Church of Beloved Disciple on Pa. Route 208.

This session is for nonprofit organizations, community organizations, development staffs, board members and volunteers who have little or no experience with the grant-writing process. Walk through forest

VILLA MARIA, Pa.

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will sponsor family forest walks from 1:30 to 3 p.m. July 8 and July 12.

Sister Jeanne Thurin will lead the walks. She is an is an environmental education program associate at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center and teaches farm-based environmental education on Villa Maria Farm and in classrooms.

After the walks, parents and children will work on a craft project. Cost is $2 per person (adult and child) or $5 per family (more than two) and includes program materials.
