A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Liberty and Hubbard:
GIRARD
June 10
Criminal mischief: A South Randolph Street woman noticed someone apparently had let the air out of one of her vehicle’s front tires.
Breaking and entering: While on routine patrol, police discovered someone had cut a lock and entered property in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue, though a building appeared to be secure.
Theft: A North Avenue woman reported an iPhone, $80 and other items missing from her vehicle, for an estimated $832 loss.
Harassment: A Plymouth Avenue woman said she received threatening calls.
Criminal mischief: A Cheyenne Drive man noticed someone had tampered with his phone and cable lines.
Arrest: Officers responded to a person possibly under the influence of drugs near U.S. Route 422 before charging 24-year-old Rachael E. Pesa, 192 Robinson Road, Campbell, with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. An intoxicated Pesa became belligerent and fought with police after they offered to call a family member to pick her up, a report said.
June 11
Criminal mischief: A vehicle on Church Hill Road was found with a damaged rear quarter panel.
Robbery: A Trumbull Avenue man told authorities another man forced his way into the accuser’s residence, struck his shoulder with a metal pipe and stole a box containing $300.
Theft: A woman reported her purse stolen from her car at a park off Route 422.
Criminal mischief: An East Broadway Avenue couple saw that someone had defecated and urinated in their swimming pool.
Criminal trespassing: Police were to issue summonses to five people charging them with criminal trespassing after they reportedly were fishing on a lake near Pleasant Valley Road despite “No trespassing” signs at the entrance of the property.
June 12
Arrest: Police arrested Dawn E. Lee, 37, of 1633 Elm St., Youngstown. She was wanted on a warrant from the Trumbull County 911 center charging her with burglary.
Felonious assault: Police received information that a car in the 100 block of East Kline Street had been shot before a man told them a motorist hit him with a handgun and fired at him.
Assaults: A man and a woman alleged his aunt struck him about 20 times with a large tree branch in the 30 block of Front Street. The woman told police the aunt swung the branch and hit her left forearm.
Menacing: A Washington Avenue woman said a man threatened to beat up her boyfriend.
Harassment: Two East Liberty Street residents reported having received unwanted text messages.
Criminal mischief: A rock was tossed at a vehicle’s passenger side on Elruth Court.
June 13
Assault/damage: A woman driving near Church Hill Road told police someone threw an egg and struck her head. Also, two vehicles were hit with eggs.
LIBERTY
June 8
Aggravated menacing: Iris Rosa, 65, of 1439 Townsend Ave., Liberty, faced an aggravated-menacing charge after a neighbor alleged that while in her yard, Rosa held a large knife and threatened to slice the accuser’s throat.
Theft: A GPS unit and a set of binoculars were removed from a vehicle in the 3700 block of Oakwood Drive.
Arrest: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to the arrest of Gary P. Golub of 445 Greenwood Drive, Hermitage, Pa. Golub was wanted on a warrant.
Domestic violence: Police charged 18-year-old Emily A. Root with the crime after a man alleged Root, of 3033 Northgate Drive, Liberty, had punched his face during an argument related to family problems.
Robbery: A customer told police the driver of a vehicle ran over his foot as the motorist and three other men fled Denny’s Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., at high speed after having failed to pay their $38.59 food bill. The customer followed the four to obtain the driver’s license number, a report said.
June 9
Breaking and entering: A steel rod was used to lift a bar on a door and enter Jackpots LLC, 3229 Belmont Ave. Stolen were an undisclosed sum of money, a firearm, a laptop computer and business checks, for a $4,100 loss.
Arrest: Youngstown police apprehended 32-year-old Keyonia M. Moorer, then handed her to township authorities. Moorer, of 1515 Oak St., Youngstown, was wanted on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court.
June 10
Burglary: To an apartment in the 2900 block of Northview Drive after someone removed the air-conditioning unit from a window. A 32-inch TV and a iPod were missing.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s front tire was slashed in the 4100 block of Madison Road.
Burglary: Occurred in the 3000 block of North Gate Road, where two flat-screen TVs, a Wii game console and about 20 Wii games were taken. The theft came to $3,850.
Burglary/criminal damaging: Someone entered a residence in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive through a side window before smashing a picture frame, destroying a flat-screen TV and placing a white substance on some of the carpeting.
Theft by deception: Malorie R. Busch, 25, of 2655 Fairview Ave. SE, Warren, faced a felony theft-by- deception charge after an elderly Kris Drive woman reported 41 Methadone pills missing from her residence.
Domestic violence: Police charged William D. Rolfe, 54, of 35 Euclid Blvd., Liberty, with the crime after a woman alleged an intoxicated Rolfe punched her face. Beforehand, Rolfe slammed a door, striking the accuser’s teenage daughter, a report showed.
June 11
Possible assault: Officers responded to a possible fight between five or six people in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue.
June 12
Theft: A Trumbull Court woman suspected a family member of stealing her $500 laptop computer.
Misuse of a credit card: An Academy Drive woman discovered on her debit-card statement 18 unauthorized charges that originated in Florida and totaled $1,869.
Theft: Someone cut a padlock and took a $4,000 dirt bike that was for sale in a yard in the 800 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.
HUBBARD
June 1
Drugs: Police charged 28-year-old David Niec, 517 E. Liberty St., Hubbard, with marijuana possession.
Arrest: James R. Jackson, 22, of 381 Liberty St., Sharon, Pa., was charged with one count of disorderly conduct.
June 2
Breaking and entering: A break-in took place in the 6000 block of Lewis-Seifert Road.
June 3
Endangerment: Police charged Tammy Smallwood, 37, of 7455 John White Road, Hubbard, with endangering children.
June 4
Assault: Took place in the 6000 block of Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
Weapon: Shots were reportedly fired in the 1000 block of Warner Road.
Drug paraphernalia: Officers charged Melissa Westfall, no age given, of 3372 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Cortland, with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Arrest: David A. Smetak, no age listed, of 371 McKinney Road, Cortland, was picked up on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.
June 5
Theft: Gasoline was stolen from Save-a-Step, 6390 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
Theft: Reported in the 1000 block of Brookfield Road.
