‘Falling Skies’ returns

An alien race made up of “skitters,” “mechs” (armed-and-dangerous ’bots) has invaded Earth and decimated civilization in “Falling Skies.” Resistance have emerged and organized, and the war of the worlds is on. Teens are “harnessed” — mind-control devices are attached to their spines.

Last season, Tom (Noah Wyle) had left the 2nd Mass Freedom Fighters to go aboard an alien ship. He thinks he may learn how to help his son Ben (Connor Jessup), who has been harnessed, and learn about the aliens’ intentions. At 9 p.m. Sunday, the fight continues and queries — has Tom been compromised?
