Stadium Drive students stepped out of the classroom and spent their entire day outside during the school’s annual “Fun Day” event June 4.

“It’s a lot of work to put on Fun Day, but it’s for the kids,” said physical education teacher Kendal Farve.

The day’s activities included various types of relay races, soccer and volleyball games.

Fun Day was an event many students looked forward to all year, even when school started back in the fall.

“They love it. They ask about it as early as the second week of school,” Farve said.

Parents, teachers and volunteers were left out of the fun, as they were excited to join in the activities with the students.

“I’m just really glad I could be a part of it,” said parent Mike Trell.

The activities provided a fun outlet for students, but also encouraged them to work together.

“I do cooperation and team theme games,” Farve said.

The event also doubled as a farewell for fourth-grade students who will move on to middle school this fall.

“From Maddy’s perspective, she sees it as the end of her fourth-grade year,” Trell said of his daughter.
