POLICE CALLS
A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
June 8
Assault/menacing: A New Castle, Pa., man reported having been assaulted and threatened at a business in the 6500 block of Center Road.
June 9
Theft: Seventy pills were stolen from a residence in the 7500 block of Clovermeade Drive.
BOARDMAN
June 9
Arrest: While offering assistance after a vehicular accident in the 800 block of Cook Avenue, police arrested 45-year-old John Krusely III, 865 Cook, Boardman, on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a forgery charge.
Arrest: Officers arrested 25-year-old Kellie K. Kearney at her home, 240 Wildwood Drive, Boardman, on felony warrants charging her with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. Earlier, a township woman discovered her stolen store credit card had been used to make $697 worth of unauthorized purchases at the Boardman-Poland Road business.
Vandalism: Someone did about $1,000 in damage to the roof at Master Park Martial Arts International, 6021 Market St.
Trespassing: Kirk V. Sackela, 37, of 1863 Beaver Trail, Mineral Ridge, faced a criminal-trespassing charge when, police said, he was at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, despite having been warned to stay away.
Theft: A bird feeder and a decorative light were stolen from a yard in the 1500 block of Sequoya Drive.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 60 block of Forest Garden Drive, from which a 42-inch TV and a laptop computer were taken.
Fraud: A Maramont Drive woman reportedly paid $8,150 in three installments after having received a call claiming her grandson had been arrested in Mexico. The woman realized it was a scam after she contacted a local family member and learned her grandson was in the area and never in Mexico.
Theft: A license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 4300 block of Hopkins Road.
Harassment: A Forestridge Drive woman reported getting a series of such calls.
Theft: A computer-software package, a flashlight and a stun gun were stolen from a business in the 4800 block of Southern Boulevard.
Drugs: A traffic stop near South Cadillac Drive led to the arrest of 41-year-old Robert M. Campy, 8030 South Ave., Boardman, on a felony drug-possession charge after police said they found a white powder in a bag that tested positive for cocaine.
June 10
Assaults: Two Howland women at the Southern Park Mall told police another woman threw a cup possibly containing soda and struck both of them.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered the garage to a vacant Overhill Road home.
Theft: A 14-year-old Youngstown girl and 18-year-old Breeanna M. Coulter, 922 Plaza Court, Youngstown, were charged with stealing two pairs of children’s sandals, a dress and various hygiene products from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road. Coulter also was charged with obstructing official business when a relative told police she had given them a false name and date of birth.
Burglary: Occurred at a vacant apartment in the 20 block of Erskine Avenue through a rear door.
Domestic violence: Officers charged a 13-year-old township girl after her mother alleged the teen had punched and slapped her in the back during an argument about cellphone privileges.
Theft: Someone stole various merchandise from CVS Pharmacy, 7230 Market St., before leaving in a pickup truck.
Theft: A 2,000-watt amplifier, a compact-disc player and a global- positioning-system unit were removed from a pickup truck in the 1800 block of Brandon Avenue.
Auto theft: A 2001 Dodge Stratus was stolen in the 100 block of Shields Road.
Theft: A purse was taken from a vehicle in the 5900 block of South Avenue.
June 11
Arrest: Amber C. Uscianowski, 21, was taken into custody at her home, 13169 Unity Road, New Springfield, on felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property after a Shadyside Drive man discovered several personal checks had been cashed without permission for a total of $315.
Theft: A woman in her late teens or early 20s stole about $60 worth of cosmetics from Kmart.
Theft: A Meadowbrook Avenue man accused his former roommate of taking his laptop computer without permission.
Identity fraud: A Boardman woman told police she was notified that someone had used her Social Security number to file an income-tax return.
Harassment: A worker for a Windham Court business reported having received a series of sexually explicit calls.
Theft: A DVD player was removed from a car in the 7400 block of Ranier Trail.
Auto theft: A 2002 Buick Century was stolen in the 300 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.
Misuse of a credit card: A Wolcott Drive woman noticed an unauthorized $135 transaction from her bank account.
Arrest: Authorities took custody of 25-year-old Joseph F. Feret, 13 Midwood Circle, Boardman, who faced charges of receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools. The owner of a Southern Boulevard business reported both quarter panels, a tailgate and other parts were stolen off a Jeep vehicle.
Criminal damaging: A car in the 1400 block of Doncaster Drive was found with two slashed tires.
Drugs: Police responded to a suspicious person at a Boardman-Canfield Road store before charging 23-year-old Andrew D. Stanton with possession of drug-abuse instruments. Stanton, of 26 N. Navarre Ave., Austintown, also was wanted on a bench warrant accusing him of violating conditions of his probation related to a falsification charge.
Harassment: An Arden Boulevard man said his former girlfriend made roughly 91 unwanted calls to him.
Theft/criminal damaging: Someone took 40 CDs and other items from a car in the 6800 block of Glenwood Avenue and damaged a speaker box.
Theft: The owner’s manual, an insurance card and a business-card holder were taken from a vehicle in the 7500 block of Sugartree Drive.
Burglary: To a garage in the 1700 block of Basil Avenue, from which a $900 racing bike and related accessories were stolen.
Stolen property: Officers arrested 37-year-old Nicholas Morar at his residence, 4055 South Ave., Boardman, on one felony count each of misuse of a credit card and receiving stolen property after a South Avenue man learned his debit card had been used to remove $300 from his account without authorization.
Domestic violence: Police charged Pamela E. Hibbard, 65, and Troutman C. Hibbard, 73, both of 753 Ewing Road, Boardman, with the crime after a situation in which he alleged having been struck in the head with a metal stapler during an argument. Pamela Hibbard alleged he struck her chest with a glass bottle.
Assault: A vehicle check in the 7100 block of Market Street led to 39-year-old Antwan Johnson’s arrest. Johnson, of 1 Arms Blvd., Niles, was wanted on a simple-assault charge from Warren.
Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 8200 block of Southern Boulevard. Stolen were an electric bill and a check.
Theft: A New Middletown woman reported the theft of her $400 cellphone at Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Police responded to a disturbance in the 6900 block of Market Street, where they arrested 19-year-old Shaqual A. Harmon, 1434 Willow Court, Youngstown, on a theft charge.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue and removed a $100 GPS device from a vehicle.
June 12
Theft: A Glenwood Avenue girl reported her $50 cellphone stolen.
