YWCA’s art show will showcase women

The YWCA’s “Youngstown’s Women Artists: a Celebration” art show will be open for public viewing from Saturday to July 27 at the John J. McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave.

Sixty-two pieces created by 35 women artists will be on display, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture fiber, ceramic and metal works. The show offers local, regional and national women artists the chance to be recognized.

A preview party open to the public will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the museum. The evening will feature a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and awards. About $1,000 in merit prizes will be awarded. General admission to the party is $35, and $10 for students with a valid ID. Tickets will be sold at the door.
