Police scour city for NY surgeon in woman’s death
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A neighbor of the Buffalo, N.Y., trauma surgeon sought in connection with the hospital shooting death of his ex-girlfriend says he told police he heard a gunshot near the lakeside home.
Tom Wrzosek tells The Associated Press that he was home around 9:30 Wednesday morning when he heard a single shot.
He dismissed it at first but then got thinking about the timing and told police Thursday morning.
His comments triggered a search with officers using dogs to scour the ravine near Wrzosek’s house looking for 49-year-old Timothy Jorden.
Jorden is the former U.S. Army weapons specialist who police have been searching for since shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday. That’s when 33-year-old Jacqueline Wisniewski was found shot to death in a stairwell at the Erie County Medical Center where she and Jorden both worked.
