Motorcyclist injured

BOARDMAN

A man was injured in a motorcycle accident about 4 p.m. Wednesday on Southern Boulevard at Maple Avenue, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

O. Scott Anderson, 26, of Poland, was northbound on Southern, and a car driven by Danis Mootz, 56, of Boardman was turning left onto Maple.

The motorcycle hit the car, and Anderson was thrown off. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in critical condition, the patrol said.

The crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending, the patrol said.

The hospital could not give out information on his condition late Wednesday.SClBMan burned in fire

NEW CASTLE, PA.

A man was burned in a kitchen fire at a residence on Rhodes Place, the New Castle Fire Department reported.

The fire happened about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The man was transported to Jameson Hospital. There was no report on his identity or condition Wednesday night.

Canfield fire

CANFIELD

No one was hurt in a fire at 1:30 p.m. in a house on Montgomery Drive in Canfield, the Cardinal Joint Fire District reported.

The department said there was moderate damage from the blaze, which started in an upstairs bedroom. The cause is still under investigation.
