County awards federal money to demolish Campbell duplex

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County commissioners have awarded a $15,840 contract to All Excavating Inc. of Boardman, for demolition of a large vacant duplex in deteriorated condition at 180 to 190 Kendall St. in Campbell.

The demolition is being paid for by the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program, for which funding ends March 1, 2013, in a government austerity effort.

The commissioners also voted today to advertise for bids for demolition of two single-family homes, one each in Struthers and Smith Township, under the same program.
