ODNR issues two new permits for fracking wells in Columbiana County

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Department of Natural Resources this month issued two new drilling permits for horizontal wells in Columbiana County. Both permits were issued to Chesapeake Energy LLC.

The first was issued June 6 for Elk Run Township off state Route 154 near Pine Hollow Road north of Elkton.

The other is in Butler Township, and the site is located north of Tower Road and west of New Garden Road. It is on an unnamed road southwest of Salem. ODNR issued that permit June 7.
