Ex-Ohio wildlife agent asks judge for leniency
COLUMBUS (AP) — A former Ohio wildlife officer is asking for leniency when he’s sentenced next week on federal charges accusing him of helping a South Carolina hunter illegally obtain an Ohio deer license at a discount that saved him about $105.
An attorney for Allen Wright says Wright has already suffered by losing his job and being forced to move out of state for a lower-paying position.
A probation department report recommends a year of probation and three months house arrest, while Wright is asking for less probation and no house arrest.
Wright also wants to be able to use a gun while on probation to continue vocational training at his new job as a college security officer in Tennessee.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources fired Wright in October.
