Blue ribbons abound at flower show

YOUNGSTOWN

The Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown recently hosted a flower show at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Bev Patrick and Joyce Dunbar were chairwomen for the event, and judges were Sheila Bowan, Millie Campean and Esther Bertch.

The Special Award for Best Design and Best Horticulture Specimen went to Pearl Marlos.

Blue ribbons in design went to Linda Vuletich, Nature Lovers; and Rose Marie Roth, Gleaners.

Blue ribbon awards in horticulture went to the following: Rosemary Fuller, Martha Murphy, Bowman and Linda Vuletich, Nature Lovers; Peggy Potts, Johnny Appleseed; Marianne Helderoff, Immaculate Heart of Mary; Mary Schall, Austintown Garden Club; Stan Vuletich, Mahoning Valley Dahlia; Bill MacPherson, Men’s Garden Club; Cookie Beeman, St. Michael; Mary Lou Flere, Marlos, Roth and Campean, Gleaners; and Tresa Kurz-Hedrich, public.
