Reacting to news of recent days

What is going on? REcent stories report that Boardman wants to get into the property management business and Austintown wants to alienate the almost-free income it gets from parochial students. The state of Ohio is funding the schools illegally. Wait, thank God, we have Mayor Sammarone.

Boardman has opened a can of worms at the wrong time, we need a real estate recovery not more taxes or regulations. The market will correct most problems. I bought my retirement home in Boardman but presently live in Austintown.

Austintown parochial parents must enroll their children in the Austintown schools — tomorrow. Let them find teachers and rooms for your children. I think safe busing might be cheaper, but don’t tell the board or superintendent; it’s just between us.

State politicians are operating in violation of Ohio law. Why are they not in prison? They are depriving our children of an equal and quality education. Columbus police should arrest everyone in the General Assembly and the governor for violation of the Ohio State Constitution as ruled by the Supreme Court many, many years ago.

Youngstown Mayor Sammarone is doing the right thing and making people accountable. Next area that needs improvements is Youngstown water. I will call the mayor about my experience.

Go Valley, go Eastern Gateway to Ohio. We all benefit from a wonderful place to live and work. Let us keep it prosperous for our future, young and old. I am old (53), but I care about others and our future. I hope to live another 40 years; my grandfather and great grandmother made it into their 90s with good health.
