Leaseholders told to be cautious during legal seminar

HOWLAND — Now that leases have been signed with BP in Trumbull County the question is: What comes next?

A full room of leaseholders today attended a seminar to hear what attorneys from Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Ltd. had to say about issues that will come over the next few months as seismic testing, drilling, pipeline development and other part of the oil and gas production process get under way.

There are going to be companies wanting to do pipelines, water lines and many other things. The key is to read each of these new items carefully and to make sure they do not impact something from the original lease, said Alan D. Wenger, a attorney who discussed general issues.
