Board promotes coach to athletic director
McDONALD
The board of education Monday named varsity football coach Dan Williams athletic director.
He replaces Fred Gault, who resigned the post in April after 17 years in the position.
Gault, who also is a social studies teacher at the high school, will continue to coach golf.
Williams will be paid $7,373 as athletic director.
The board also approved paying the state auditor to audit financial statements for the year up to June 30.
The audit is done routinely by the state every year, and will cost the district $19,003.
Mike Helco was named transportation supervisor on a one-year contract for 191 days at two hours a day. His hourly rate will be $15.03 for a total of $5,741.46 annually, effective Aug. 1 through July 31, 2013.
The board also accepted a donation of $45.74 from the Roosevelt Organization Supporting Educators and Students for a Roosevelt field trip.
