World Elder Abuse Awareness Day set

YOUNGSTOWN

The seventh annual observance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, sponsored by the Mahoning County Department of Jobs and Family Services Adult Protective Service Department, is Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the agency office at 345 Oak Hill.

During the event, several agency employees who assist Adult Protective Services with achieving goals with seniors, working together to prevent abuse, neglect, self neglect and exploitation of the elderly, will be recognized.

People who attend the event are urged to show support of the fight against elder abuse by including the color purple in their attire.
