“bunheads” (9 p.m., abc family): Sutton Foster stars in “Bunheads,” a new drama series from Amy Sherman-Palladino (“Gilmore Girls”). She plays a fading Las Vegas show girl who winds up in a sleepy beach town and struggles to adapt to life as an instructor at a dance studio for wannabe ballerinas.

“hollywood heights” (9 p.m., nickelodeon): “Hollywood Heights” follows the journey of a teen girl (Brittany Underwood) whose life changes drastically when she becomes a star and falls in love with her pop-music idol (Cody Longo). The show was adapted from a popular Mexican telenovela.

‘Tarawa’ author to speak at club

YOUNGSTOWN

Dr. Donald Allen, a local veterinarian, will be the guest speaker at the Youngstown chapter of International Torch Clubs’ dinner-discussion meeting at 6 p.m. June 18 at Pete’s Place, located on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Dr. Allen is the author of “Tarawa — The Aftermath.” His presentation, “Searching for the Missing of World War II: High Tech and Bio Tech,” will follow dinner.

The Youngstown chapter is one of more than 70 Torch Clubs in the country. Each sponsors debates, special-guest speakers and presentations by members.
