Motorcycle, donkey accident injures 2 in Trumbull Co.

BRISTOLVILLE — A man and woman on a custom-made motorcycle were injured, one of them seriously, when they hit a donkey on state Route 45 at 1:49 a.m. Sunday.

Tina Freeman, 23, of Cortland, was transported to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital and later transferred to St. Elizabeth Health Center. She was the passenger on the motorcycle.

She suffered serious head injuries after she was ejected from the motorcycle, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Southington post said.

The driver of the motorcycle, Zachary Sain, 23, of Warren, was taken to Trumbull Memorial with nonlife-threatening injuries after he, too, was ejected. Freeman and Sain were not wearing helmets, the highway patrol said.

The motorcycle was northbound when it struck the donkey, which entered the roadway from the west. The crash remains under investigation.
